Coconut Creek to Host Glow-in-the-Dark Pickleball Tournament

The City of Coconut Creek is gearing up for an exciting event that will surely light up the night for residents and pickleball enthusiasts alike. On Wednesday, January 8, the Coconut Creek Community Center will be hosting a one-of-a-kind Indoor Glow-in-the-Dark Pickleball Tournament.

This unique tournament promises to be a thrilling combination of sport and spectacle, with a glowing court and illuminated equipment transforming the gymnasium into a vibrant playing field. Participants are invited to register as a team of two players, with teams of any gender composition welcome. The tournament is recommended for intermediate to advanced players looking for a fun and competitive experience.

Games will be played to 11 points using a fixed doubles round-robin format, with a one-point lead required for a win. Following the round-robin phase, single-elimination rounds will determine the ultimate champions, with each team guaranteed to compete in a minimum of four games.

The tournament will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Community Center gymnasium located at 1100 Lyons Road. Participants are asked to arrive by 5:45 p.m. and must bring their own paddles. The registration fee is $30 per team, with payment accepted by credit card only. Registration is open until January 7 or until all spots are filled, as the tournament is limited to seven teams. Walk-in registrations on the day of the event will not be accepted.

Interested teams can register online at CoconutCreek.net/WebTrac or in person at the Community Center or the Recreation Complex on Sol Press Boulevard. Players registering online must create a WebTrac account, which can be set up with assistance from the Community Center staff by calling 954-545-6670.

This unique event is open to players aged 18 and older, offering a chance to experience the excitement of glow-in-the-dark pickleball and compete for bragging rights in a vibrant, high-energy tournament.
