Exciting News for Wheaton Picklr Facility: Liquor License Request and Expansion Plans

The Wheaton Picklr pickleball facility is making waves in the community as it prepares to open its doors by July 1. Located in the former Stein Mart department store at 191 Rice Lake Square, this 40,000-square-foot facility is set to offer a premier playing experience with 14 indoor pickleball courts.

Franchisee John Williams is not only focused on providing top-notch facilities for members and guests but also on enhancing their overall experience. To achieve this, Williams has applied for a liquor license to sell beer, wine, and spirits at the facility. The Wheaton Liquor Commission will review this request on Thursday, considering the potential benefits of adding alcohol sales to the venue.

Williams expressed his excitement about the new venture, stating, “It’s just a charming little town. The folks I’ve met out there embraced the idea. Everybody has been a pleasure to deal with.” He also highlighted the positive reception from the community, noting the difference in attitude compared to his experiences in other areas.

In addition to the pickleball courts, Wheaton Picklr will offer a range of amenities and services, including locker rooms, youth programming, pickleball equipment, lessons, and wheelchair accessibility. Food options will also be available, with grab-and-go meals and food trucks on-site during tournaments and corporate events.

This facility is part of a larger expansion plan for Picklr, with seven locations planned for the Chicago metro area, including Kildeer and St. Charles. With a focus on providing a comprehensive and enjoyable experience for members, Wheaton Picklr is set to become a hub for pickleball enthusiasts in the region.
