The Indian Pickleball Association (IPA) has been officially recognized as the National Sports Federation (NSF) for pickleball by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, marking a significant milestone for the sport in India. This recognition enables structured development, funding, and nationwide promotion of pickleball. IPA plans to organize over 100 events across various states this year, launch the Indian Pickleball Ranking system, and hold India’s first official Pickleball Nationals, expected to attract over 1,000 players. Collaborations with the Times Group will introduce a flagship league featuring Indian and international athletes, alongside a year-end Masters tournament.

IPA aims to build a professional, inclusive ecosystem focused on grassroots growth, talent identification, and global competitiveness, with ambitions to win international medals and position India as a global pickleball powerhouse. The association is also working toward hosting the first Official Asia Cup, pursuing Olympic recognition, and integrating pickleball into school and national sports programs. Long-term initiatives include infrastructure development, coaching certification, academy establishment, and a structured league system to support player progression from amateur to professional levels.
