Indian Pickleball Association Issues Legal Warning Against All India Pickleball Association for Unauthorized Activities

Posted In:

The Indian Pickleball Association (IPA), the only body officially recognized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports as the National Sports Federation for pickleball in India, has issued a strong legal warning against the All India Pickleball Association (AIPA). IPA accuses AIPA of violating Indian laws by using the country’s name without authorization, organizing unauthorized state and national tournaments, and issuing unapproved equipment certifications and training programs. These actions, IPA claims, mislead players and sponsors, undermine the sport’s growth, and are potentially illegal.

Additionally, IPA expressed serious concerns over AIPA’s announcement of a “World Pickleball Championship” in India, highlighting that it is a private event not officially sanctioned and may involve foreign players entering on tourist visas without proper permissions, posing security risks. IPA has urged players, sponsors, and equipment brands to avoid any association with AIPA, labeling its activities as unauthorized and harmful to the integrity of pickleball in India.
