The Indian Pickleball Association (IPA) has received an official invitation to participate in the 2025 Pickleball World Cup, scheduled from October 27 to November 2 at the Fort Lauderdale Pickleball Club in Florida. The event is expected to attract over 50 national delegations, each sending at least four players across Open and Senior divisions, alongside a concurrent International Pickleball Tournament open to all ages, including Para-Pickleball. IPA representatives will also attend the World Pickleball Promoters Forum to collaborate with global counterparts on expanding the sport’s international presence and Olympic aspirations.
Supported by the Global Pickleball Federation and India’s Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, IPA is the recognized governing body promoting pickleball in India. The sport has seen rapid growth domestically, expanding from 200 courts in early 2024 to over 1,200 courts and 50,000 active players. IPA organizes major national events and is launching the World Pickleball League in Mumbai in early 2025, alongside a National Junior high-performance program aligned with Olympic goals. The World Cup invitation marks a pivotal moment for Indian pickleball, providing a platform for athletes to compete internationally and contribute to the sport’s global development.
