The Indian Pickleball Association (IPA) has commenced trials to select the national team for the 2025 Pickleball World Cup, with over 140 players competing at the IPA Centre of Excellence in Ahmedabad. This event, held from August 30-31, aims to finalize representatives across multiple categories including U-16, Open singles, doubles, and a 50+ doubles category. The World Cup, organized by the Global Pickleball Federation, will take place from October 27 to November 2 in Florida, USA, marking its second edition after a successful inaugural event in Lima, Peru.
IPA president Suryaveer Singh Bhullar highlighted the significance of this selection as the first official Indian team to compete under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and the Sports Authority of India, reflecting the sport’s growing recognition and development in India. Selected players from the first day include Aman Patel (Men’s Singles), Dhiren Patel and Suraj Desai (Men’s Doubles), Amrita Mukherjee (Women’s Singles), Rakshika Ravi and Sindoor Mittal (Women’s Doubles), and U-16 girls Aayra Khanna and Anushka Chhabaria, with remaining trials scheduled for August 31.
