The Indian Pickleball Association (IPA), recognized as the national governing body for pickleball in India since May 2025, will conduct trials on August 30–31, 2025, in Ahmedabad to select players for India’s debut at the Pickleball World Cup 2025. The trials will feature categories for Under-16 juniors, Open (top-ranked players), and Seniors 50+, aiming to assemble a competitive national team for the event held in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA. This tournament, organized by the Peru-based Cabieses Foundation, will host over 3,000 participants from five continents at a venue with 43 courts, including stadium and grandstand courts.
The IPA’s president, Suryaveer Singh Bhullar, emphasized the significance of this milestone for Indian pickleball, highlighting the opportunity to showcase Indian talent on the global stage. Success at the World Cup could elevate India’s international profile in the sport and inspire wider participation nationwide. The IPA will provide further updates about the trials through its social media channels as the event approaches.
