India shines at World Pickleball Championship in Hong Kong
India made a mark on the global stage at the World Pickleball Championship held in Hong Kong, bringing home a total of six medals. The Indian contingent showcased their skills and determination, with Vanshik Kapadia and Vrushali Thakare leading the charge by clinching the gold in the 19+ open mixed doubles category.
Adding to the medal tally were Kuldip Mahajan, Vanshik Kapadia, Karina Aditya Dwipayani, Vrushali Thakare, Isha Lakhani, and Roos Van Reek, who all secured silver and bronze medals in various categories. This impressive performance comes on the heels of India’s success at the World Pickleball Championship’s India leg, where the country won a total of 28 medals, including 11 gold.
In another significant development, former IOA top official Rajeev Mehta has been elected as the Secretary-General of the Fencing Confederation of Asia (FCA). Mehta, who has a wealth of experience in sports administration, is the first Indian to hold this prestigious position. His vision for the FCA includes fostering strong relationships with stakeholders to drive the advancement of fencing in the region.
