India Dominates World Pickleball Championship Series, Clinches 11 Gold Medals

India emerged as the dominant force at the World Pickleball Championship Series, clinching a total of 28 medals, including an impressive haul of 11 gold medals. The Indian picklers showcased their skills and determination, emerging as the best-performing team and securing the team event title.

Organized by the All India Pickleball Association, the championship witnessed fierce competition from more than 17 nations, with 55 international players and over 500 Indian athletes participating. The event proved to be a grand spectacle, highlighting the growing popularity of pickleball in India.

In the 19+ OPEN Category, Sonu Vishwakarma displayed exceptional prowess as he outplayed Spain’s Mauro Garcia to claim the gold medal. Meanwhile, Kuldip Mahajan secured the bronze by defeating Taiwan’s Lin Guang Sian.

Vietnam’s Carlos Rubio staged a remarkable comeback in the 35+ men’s singles category, edging past Ankit Mody to clinch the gold medal. In the women’s doubles category, Australia’s Andie Dikosavljevic and India’s Vrushali Thakare emerged victorious, showcasing their exceptional teamwork.

The championship also saw impressive performances from other Indian players, with Priyanka Mehta and Shraddha Damani dominating the 35+ women’s doubles category to claim the gold medal.
