Hudson Pickle Hosts Third Annual Fundraiser Benefiting Kids’ Club of Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow

Hudson Pickle, a local pickleball organization, is gearing up to host its third annual fundraiser on Saturday, March 29th at Sleepy Hollow High School and Middle School gymnasium. The event, which kicks off at 11 a.m., aims to raise funds for the Kids’ Club of Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting underserved local youth.

Pickleball, a sport that has been gaining popularity in recent years, has found a strong foothold in the river towns thanks to the efforts of Hudson Pickle founders Marni Rose and Rich Pacheco. The organization offers coaching, clinics, open play, and tournaments, with a focus on growing the sport and getting more people involved.

The fundraiser will feature a double round-robin format, with players grouped by skill level to ensure fair competition. This year, two new youth divisions have been added to the mix, alongside the Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced categories. The entry fee is $60 per person, with discounts available for kids and teachers. Spectators are also welcome to come and cheer on the players from the bleacher seating.

All proceeds from the event will go towards supporting the Kids’ Club of Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow, which provides essential services to nearly 1,500 families each year. Jennifer Green, the organization’s president, expressed gratitude for Hudson Pickle’s continued support and emphasized the impact that the funds raised will have on the community.

In the past two years, the pickleball fundraiser has raised nearly $10,000, with each tournament bringing in over $4,000. This year, the goal is to increase participation and donations to further support the Kids’ Club’s initiatives.

Local sponsors, including ENT Allergy Associates, Allan Block Insurance, Yoga Love NY, and The Pilates Movement, have also stepped up to support the event through various sponsorship tiers. Donors can receive recognition on social media, event shoutouts, free sign-ups, and more based on their contribution level.

The tournament promises to be a fun and social event for the community, with over 100 attendees expected to participate. Marni Rose highlighted the welcoming and friendly atmosphere of the event, noting that pickleball is a social sport that brings people together.

Overall, the third annual pickleball fundraiser hosted by Hudson Pickle is set to be a day of community fun, friendly competition, and support for a worthy cause. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to join in on the action and make a difference in the lives of local youth.
