Heber Springs Community Center Hosts Sixth Annual Health and Safety Expo
Heber Springs Community Center to Host Sixth Annual Health and Safety Expo
The Heber Springs Community Center is gearing up for its sixth annual Health & Safety Expo, set to take place on September 13th from noon to 6 p.m. at the center located on 201 Bobbie Jean Lane. The event, which was started six years ago to benefit residents and businesses in the area, has been growing steadily each year, according to Stacey Mills, the center’s director.
The expo will feature a blood drive by the American Red Cross and various vendors showcasing their services on the gymnasium floor. Danielle Stacks, the events coordinator, expressed her passion for the event, stating that it is a great opportunity for the community to learn about different health and safety resources available to them.
With free admission, the expo aims to attract a wide range of attendees and provide valuable information on maintaining a safe and healthy lifestyle. Vendors will include insurance agencies, physicians’ clinics, and other health-related businesses offering information and prizes to visitors.
In addition to the vendor booths, Baptist Health will be offering heart rate and blood pressure checks, while hearing specialists will be providing hearing screenings. The event is not only a great way to learn about health and safety resources but also an opportunity to showcase the benefits of the community center itself.
For Beverly and Ronnie Melvin, members of the community center and avid pickleball players, the center has played a significant role in their health and well-being. Beverly shared how her husband’s active lifestyle helped him avoid further heart surgery, emphasizing the positive impact of staying active and engaged in the community.
Overall, the Health & Safety Expo serves as a valuable community event that brings together local businesses, residents, and the community center to promote health and safety awareness. With the support of dedicated staff like Danielle Stacks, the expo continues to grow and make a positive impact on the Heber Springs community.
