Greenville Recreation and Parks Department Sports Updates

The Greenville Recreation and Parks Department recently celebrated the success of its youth basketball champions in four different age groups. Young athletes from various teams showcased their skills and sportsmanship throughout the season, culminating in exciting championship games.

In the age 9-10 division, Youngs Physical Therapy emerged victorious, while Dick’s Sporting Goods claimed the title in the 9-11 category. Plaza Azteca took home the championship in the 13-15 age group, and Jersey Mike’s secured the top spot in the 16-18 division.

But the excitement doesn’t stop there. The Greenville Recreation and Parks Department is now gearing up for the upcoming Adult Kickball League. This co-rec league will feature 10 regular season games followed by a single-elimination postseason tournament. Games will be held on Sunday afternoons at Boyd Lee Park and other locations as needed.

For those interested in trying out a new sport, the department is also offering indoor beginner and intermediate pickleball clinics, as well as open play opportunities. Participants will have the chance to learn the skills, rules, and strategies of the game at Sports Connection or Boyd Lee Park.

And for softball enthusiasts, the Spring Adult Softball League is on the horizon. Team registration is currently open for both Open and Coed leagues, with each team set to compete in a preseason tournament, 10 regular season games, and a double-elimination postseason tournament at H. Boyd Lee Park.

Whether you’re a seasoned athlete or looking to try something new, the Greenville Recreation and Parks Department has something for everyone.
