FBI Agents Raid Home of Former Pickleball Rocks Owner in Brookville, Indiana

BROOKVILLE, Ind. — FBI agents descended on a home in Brookville, Indiana on Wednesday morning, searching for potential victims who may have invested with the former owner of the apparel company Pickleball Rocks, Rodney Grubbs.

According to court records, several investors have already filed lawsuits against Grubbs, alleging that he solicited investments through promissory notes with high interest rates and failed to repay them.

Agents were seen carrying boxes out of Grubbs’ home and loading them into an unmarked vehicle parked outside. The FBI spokesperson confirmed that they were executing a search warrant at the residence, but did not disclose the reason behind the search.

Indiana Secretary of State Diego Morales had previously issued a cease and desist order to Grubbs in January, accusing him of running a fraudulent investment scheme related to Pickleball Rocks. The order alleged that Grubbs promised investors high returns with exorbitant interest rates, but many were left unpaid.

Multiple civil cases have been filed against Grubbs since 2023, with plaintiffs claiming they were issued promissory notes by Grubbs and never received the promised returns. In all three cases, the plaintiffs emerged victorious, with Grubbs ordered to pay millions of dollars in damages and attorney fees.

The FBI is urging anyone who may have been victimized by Grubbs to come forward and fill out a form on their website. All victim identities will be kept confidential, the agency assured.

As of now, Grubbs has not been charged with any crimes, and the investigation is ongoing. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
