Thunder Bay Pickleball Club Prepares New CLE Facility with Acrylic Hardcore Surface and Nets

The Thunder Bay Pickleball Club is gearing up for an exciting new chapter as they prepare to move into a new facility at the Canadian Lakehead Exhibition. With the closure of their previous location, the club has been hard at work transforming the space to accommodate their needs.

Club president Jake Krawczuk shared that volunteers are currently in the process of renovating the space, which includes installing an acrylic indoor hardcourt surface and permanent or semi-permanent nets. Additionally, the kitchen is being transformed into a canteen area, with plans for a second-floor viewing area in the future.

The new facility will feature three full courts and one half-width court for singles play, providing ample space for members to enjoy the sport. Temporary courts are expected to be ready for play by next week, allowing for some pickleball action over the March school break.

The club, which boasts close to 400 members, is looking to expand its reach and increase court availability for both existing and new members. With the addition of the new facility, the club hopes to accommodate more players and offer additional programming slots.

Despite the challenges of finding a new home, the Thunder Bay Pickleball Club is excited for this new opportunity and is working diligently to make the transition as smooth as possible. Stay tuned for the official launch of play in April at their new CLE facility.
