The Florida Keys Children’s Shelter hosted a lively Community Pickleball Tournament on July 12 at Key Largo Community Park, bringing together kids and young adults aged 8 to 21 for friendly competition across three skill levels. Participants enjoyed a week of training before competing for prizes including gift cards, local restaurant baskets, and raffle items like electric scooters and motocross bikes. The event also featured music, dancing, free ice cream, a photo booth, and complimentary pickleball sportswear, snacks, and refreshments, fostering a festive atmosphere of community connection and fun.
Following the tournament, attendees cooled off with free access to the Jacobs Aquatic Center, enjoying time with teammates and families. The event was supported by local partners and dedicated volunteers, whose efforts helped create a memorable day celebrating the spirit of the Florida Keys through joy, connection, and a shared commitment to youth development.
