Expanding Junior Pickleball Through Strategic Partnership: “The Road to Memphis” Tournament Series and More
The world of junior pickleball is set to expand through a strategic partnership that aims to introduce more young athletes to the sport. “The Road to Memphis” tournament series, co-sponsored by the Tennessee Junior Pickleball Association (TJPA) and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), will provide competitive opportunities for junior players, including those with special needs.
The series will be hosted at Bluff City Pickleball, an indoor facility in Bartlett, TN, known for its commitment to inclusivity and community engagement. John Daniel, the founder of Bluff City Pickleball, expressed excitement about the partnership, stating that the facility aims to make pickleball accessible to every child, regardless of limitations.
FCA’s involvement in promoting the events is expected to increase youth participation in the sport. Rod Nixon, the local Memphis FCA director, highlighted the organization’s enthusiasm for introducing organized junior pickleball to student-athletes, with the goal of expanding participation not only in Memphis but across Tennessee and beyond.
In addition to competitive play, TJPA will also host inclusive events tailored for students with developmental challenges, using adaptive pickleball therapy to promote enjoyment, self-confidence, and health benefits for all participants.
The partnership between TJPA, FCA, and Bluff City Pickleball reflects a shared commitment to growing junior pickleball and creating opportunities for young athletes to excel both on and off the court. With a focus on inclusivity, community engagement, and youth development, this collaboration is poised to make a significant impact on the sport of pickleball in Tennessee and beyond.
