Evansville to Host Professional Pickleball Association Challenger Series in 2025
Evansville, Indiana has been selected as one of 16 sites to host the Professional Pickleball Association (PPA) Challenger Series next year. The tournament is set to take place at Wesselman Park from September 19-21, 2025, and is expected to be the largest tournament hosted at the park to date.
The PPA Challenger Series was created to provide a structured pathway for aspiring professionals to join the Carvana PPA Tour, while also giving players of all ages and skill levels the opportunity to enhance their game alongside professionals. Aaron King, sports sales lead for Explore Evansville, expressed excitement about the event, stating that it will be a great highlight for the region and a part of the city’s strategy to grow sports tourism.
With 16 pickleball courts already in place at Wesselman Park, plans are underway to ensure that the tournament is not only a success for the players, but also for the fans in attendance. Kate Reibel, Explore Evansville’s director of marketing and development, mentioned that there will be entertainment options such as food trucks, music, and other activities to make the tournament a fun and exciting experience for all.
