In a heartwarming display of generosity and community spirit, Entergy employees have raised an impressive $868,167 for The Power to Care program. This vital initiative provides emergency bill assistance to vulnerable neighbors, including older adults and individuals with disabilities.
Throughout the year, Entergy employees organized a series of fundraisers that brought together team members from across the service area. Events such as the Boston Marathon, golf tournaments, softball games, fishing tournaments, and pickleball competitions not only fostered camaraderie among employees but also united everyone in a shared mission to serve customers and uplift communities.
Patty Riddlebarger, Entergy’s vice president of corporate social responsibility, expressed immense gratitude to the dedicated employees who organized these events. She noted that this year marked the highest amount raised from special events in nearly two decades, showcasing the incredible generosity of Entergy employees.
Highlights from the 2024 fundraisers include the Entergy Texas Golf Tournament raising $245,852, the Entergy New Orleans Golf Tournament raising $150,000, and the Entergy Mississippi Golf Tournament raising $127,600, among others.
The Power to Care program has been instrumental in providing emergency bill payment assistance to vulnerable customers facing financial crises. Since 2008, the program has raised over $50 million and helped more than 250,000 people in need.
