Disney’s Storyliving Community in Rancho Mirage, CA: A Dream Come True for Disney Fans
Disney fans who never want to leave the Happiest Place on Earth will soon have the opportunity to tour three homes built within Disney’s first residential Storyliving community, Cotino. Located in Rancho Mirage, CA, near Palm Springs in the Coachella Valley, Cotino offers a range of homes from single-family dwellings and condos to larger villa estates, with some specifically designed for the 55-plus crowd. These homes will be priced between $1 million to over $2 million.
The three model homes at Cotino have just been completed and will be open for public tours in November. Disney is banking on its iconic brand name to attract legions of Mouse House fans to this desert locale, about two hours from the closest theme park, Disneyland in Anaheim, where Walt Disney himself once lived.
The Cotino location will feature nearly 2,000 homes on a 618-acre parcel, along with a 24-acre lagoon offering water sports and a beach, a vibrant mixed-use district with dining, shopping, entertainment venues, and a beachfront hotel. Disney’s signature cast members will run the community association.
Different levels of access to perks will be available depending on the membership chosen, such as the Artisan Club membership, which provides access to the clubhouse for fitness classes and pickleball, as well as a members-only beach and curated Disney programming.
The three model homes, built by Shea Homes, offer a glimpse into the Disney-inspired living experience. Melodia, part of the Aspiron design collection, is a modern one-story home with three bedrooms and 3.5 baths. Moderne, part of the Agrarian design collection, is a two-story property with two bedrooms, two full baths, and two half-baths. Atelier II, part of the Oasis collection, is a one-level home with two bedrooms and 2.5 baths, featuring midcentury modern design both inside and out.
