The Illinois State Fair will host the “Dill-inois State Fair Pickleball Showdown” on August 16, 2025, at the Orr Building in Springfield. This indoor event features a round-robin doubles tournament for youth and adults across various skill levels and age categories, including 14 & under, boys 15-18, and men’s and women’s 3.0 and 3.5 divisions. Matches run from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM on polished concrete courts, with the top two teams from each group advancing to playoffs. Tie-breakers are decided by wins, head-to-head results, points scored, and points allowed.
Registration costs $30, which includes fair admission, and parking is available for $5 near the venue. Winners receive cash prizes of $100 for first place, $50 for second, and $25 for third. The event aims to promote pickleball while providing a fun, competitive atmosphere for families and athletes, adding an active and engaging element to the Illinois State Fair experience.
