Delaware ranks as the 10th best state in the U.S. for pickleball players, according to a national report by PodPlay Pickleball Business Guide. This ranking is based on the number of pickleball venues per capita, with Delaware offering 3.52 facilities per 100,000 residents. Wilmington, Delaware’s largest city, stands out as the fifth-best city nationwide for pickleball access, boasting nearly 14 courts per 100,000 residents and providing both indoor and outdoor options for year-round play.

The report highlights regional differences in pickleball infrastructure, noting that Florida cities dominate due to their abundance of outdoor courts and favorable climate, while northern states like Vermont and Maine maintain high rankings by offering many indoor courts to support year-round play. Overall, the findings reflect growing national interest in pickleball and the expanding facilities supporting the sport across diverse climates and populations.
