New Indoor Pickleball Facility Coming to Middleton

The pickleball craze is hitting Middleton with the construction of a new indoor facility on Route 114. The 15,000-square-foot venue, run by the New England Pickleball Club, will feature six dedicated courts and is set to be completed by the end of the year.

Pickleball, the fastest-growing sport in America for three consecutive years, has seen a 51.8% growth from 2022 to 2023 and a 223.5% increase since 2020. The sport has been gaining popularity with new courts popping up at schools, sports complexes, retirement communities, and public parks.

The new facility in Middleton will offer a full pro shop, viewing areas, showers, and professional court surfaces. Owner Dave Velardo’s focus is on providing the best pickleball experience possible, with a strong emphasis on skill-based recreational play and maintaining etiquette during games.

Members of the club will have the advantage of reserving courts 10 days in advance, compared to non-members who can only book three days ahead. The club aims to cater to players of all skill levels, offering both social open play and competitive group play.

With a staff rating system in place to match players with similar skill levels, the club ensures a fair and enjoyable playing experience for all. For more information on the facility, visit https://middleton.newenglandpickleball.com/.
