Exciting Development: Kettlestone Central Sports Complex in Waukee to Become Largest Youth Sports Venue in Iowa
The Kettlestone Central Sports Complex in Waukee is on track to become the largest youth sports venue in Iowa, part of a $350 million development project. The complex features impressive twin 70,000-square-foot brick structures designed to resemble vintage field houses, giving it a unique and nostalgic charm.
Developer Blake Jensen expressed his excitement about the project, stating, “It’s been a quick process to get here, but it’s awesome.” The nonprofit Iowa Youth Athletic Foundation owns the development, which includes space for basketball, volleyball, pickleball courts, wrestling, and gymnastics areas. Despite its classic appearance, the complex is equipped with modern amenities to accommodate youth athletes from the metro area and beyond.
With the potential to host thousands of people on any given weekend, the complex is expected to be a hub of activity and excitement. Waukee Economic Development Director Jennifer Brown described the project as transformative, with $160 million in new commercial valuation added to the Kettlestone district since 2016.
If all goes according to plan, the massive sports complex is scheduled to be completed by March 2025. The growth and development in Waukee are certainly something to look forward to, as the community continues to thrive and expand.
