Exciting New Pickleball Facility Set to Open in Skokie in 2025
A new pickleball facility, Pickledilly, is set to open on Main Street in Skokie in early 2025, offering 11 full-size courts and one “skinny court” for players of all ages and skill levels. Co-owner Armi Cachila shared that the indoor facility will have dedicated hours for seniors, children, leagues, and open play, operating daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Cachila emphasized the inclusivity of pickleball as an all-age sport, with plans for youth programming and special hours for seniors. The facility will offer membership options for regular players and casual visitors, as well as paddle rentals for those looking to try out different equipment.
The layout of Pickledilly, located at 4919 Main Street, Skokie, was designed with spacious open areas and CushionX floors for player comfort. The facility will also feature garage entrances that can be opened for fresh air circulation.
The co-founders of Pickledilly, including Cachila and her husband Nathan, were inspired to create the facility after discovering pickleball as one of the fastest-growing sports in America during the pandemic. With support from the village of Skokie, they found the perfect location for their indoor courts.
While Pickledilly will not offer food or beverages, its proximity to Sketchbook Brewing provides players with options for refreshments. The facility joins other local park districts in expanding pickleball offerings, with renovations and new courts planned in Niles and Morton Grove.
As pickleball continues to gain popularity, Pickledilly aims to provide a welcoming space for players to enjoy the sport year-round and build a community of enthusiasts in the Skokie area.
