Chennai Super Champs, a team in the World Pickleball League (WPBL), has made a groundbreaking announcement by partnering with Sathyabama University. The team owner, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, revealed the exciting news at a recent event where she also unveiled the team’s new yellow-and-red jersey.
The Chennai Super Champs will proudly showcase their new jersey for the first time on January 24 when they face off against Bengaluru Jawans. Samantha Ruth Prabhu expressed her enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “Chennai has a vibe that’s unmatched—spirited, fiery, and always up for a challenge! That’s exactly what we wanted the Chennai Super Champs jersey to reflect.”
Dr. Mariazeena Johnson, Chancellor of Sathyabama University, also shared her excitement about the partnership, emphasizing the university’s commitment to fostering ambition and excellence among today’s youth. Samantha Ruth Prabhu made history as the first franchise owner to invest in the WPBL, with a focus on putting Chennai on the map in the world of pickleball. The team’s final match of the season will take place on January 31 against Hyderabad Super Stars.
