Burlington County is allocating $5 million in grants to 37 towns for local park and recreational improvements, funded by the open space preservation tax. These grants, ranging from $75,000 to $175,000, support projects such as splash parks, inclusive playgrounds, pickleball courts, trail construction, lighting upgrades, and other facility enhancements to promote outdoor recreation and accessibility across the county’s communities.

All 40 municipalities in Burlington County were eligible to apply for funding to build, repair, or improve park facilities or acquire open space for future parks. The initiative aims to ensure quality outdoor spaces are available to all residents, enhancing health benefits and community engagement through diverse recreational amenities tailored to each town’s needs.
