Mesquite PD chief terminated
The Mesquite Police Department Chief MaQuade Chesley has been terminated from his position following an internal investigation. City Manager Edward “Owen” Dickie made the announcement on Jan. 21, stating that Chesley’s employment has been terminated and that Captain Tracy Fails will be in charge of the department in the interim.
The Mesquite Police Officers Association expressed their support for the decision, stating that they have been advocating for Chesley’s removal for several months. They believe that his tenure as Police Chief has caused harm to the department and its members.
