Assam Pickleball Association (APA) Announces Major Milestones and Ambitious Roadmap for Northeast India

The Assam Pickleball Association (APA) is making waves in Northeast India with its recent achievements and ambitious plans to promote the sport of pickleball. At a press meet in Guwahati, the association shared its major milestones and outlined a strategic roadmap for expanding pickleball across the region.

One of the highlights of the event was the felicitation of Assam’s medalists from the 4th Indian Pickleball Association (IPA) National Pickleball Championships. Babita Mohan Langthasa secured a silver medal in the 50+ Women’s Singles category, while Langthasa and Nazneen Rahman clinched bronze in the 50+ Women’s Doubles event. APA Secretary Nazneen Rahman praised the athletes for their outstanding performance, attributing their success to rigorous training and the association’s developmental efforts.

Looking ahead, APA has laid out a comprehensive five-point strategy to grow the sport in Northeast India. This includes establishing regional training centers, organizing inter-state tournaments, launching youth development programs, engaging with the community through awareness campaigns, and collaborating with authorities for support and resources.

The Assam Pickleball Association, registered under the Government of Assam and affiliated with the Indian Pickleball Association, has been at the forefront of introducing pickleball to the region. Through grassroots initiatives and partnerships with educational institutions, APA has built a strong community of players, coaches, and enthusiasts.

The association also announced the names of Assam’s national team members, recognizing their contributions to the sport. Key players include Abyan Zaffar, Jishnu Baruah, Himanish Sarma, Mitali Baruah, Sanchita Sarma, Nazneen Rahman, and Babita Langthasa, among others.

With a clear vision and dedicated efforts, the Assam Pickleball Association is poised to elevate the status of pickleball in Northeast India and create opportunities for aspiring players to excel in the sport.
