The Asia Federation of Pickleball is set to host the inaugural Asia Pickleball University Championship from July 17 to 20, 2025, at the Tuyen Son Sport Complex in Da Nang, Vietnam. This groundbreaking event will bring together university student-athletes, faculty, and alumni from across Asia to compete in various singles and doubles categories, including men’s, women’s, and mixed events. A referee clinic led by John Ng, a USA Pickleball-trained official, will be held on July 16 to certify referees for the tournament. The championship aims to promote pickleball at the collegiate level and foster international competition and camaraderie.

Top teams from the University Team Challenge will earn “golden tickets” to the Collegiate World Championships in Dallas, Texas, scheduled for October 31 to November 2, 2025, providing a significant incentive for participation. Supported by sponsors such as Zocker, Sypik, JOOLA, and Selkirk Sport, and overseen in part by the Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating, the event represents a major step in expanding pickleball’s popularity among Asian universities. Registration for the championship closes on July 10, 2025.
