2025 Congressional Art Competition: Showcase Your Talent!
The 2025 Congressional Art Competition is now open for high school students residing in Florida’s 16th Congressional District. This nationwide competition allows students to showcase their artistic talents and potentially have their artwork displayed in the United States Capitol. The deadline to submit artwork is April 21, and entries can be submitted online or at designated district office locations.
In addition to the main competition, Congressman Vern Buchanan will also award a ‘Facebook Fan Favorite’ based on the artwork that receives the highest number of likes and shares on his Facebook page. The winning piece will be displayed in Buchanan’s Washington, D.C., office for one year.
Meanwhile, the Mystery Book Club at the Bloomingdale Regional Public Library meets monthly to discuss various mystery novels, with the next meeting scheduled for April 3. The Tampa Bay HEAT, a homeschooling resource, will be hosting a spring market on April 5 to raise funds for a new facility. Additionally, the Hillsborough County Fire Rescue Foundation is offering a Summer Youth Fire Academy for high school students interested in firefighting.
Lastly, St. Stephen Catholic Church is hosting its annual Lenten Fish Fry on Fridays during Lent, and Impact is organizing a pickleball fundraiser on May 3 to promote healthy lifestyles and relationships to teens.
