“Electric Pickle: The Newest Eatertainment Concept Bringing Pickleball to Tempe, Arizona”

Electric Pickle to Open First Location in Tempe, Arizona, Featuring Pickleball Courts and Two-Story Restaurant

The pickleball trend continues to gain momentum with the upcoming opening of Electric Pickle, a new eatertainment concept in Tempe, Arizona. Scheduled to open in December, Electric Pickle will offer 4.5 acres of pickleball courts, a two-story restaurant, and additional activities such as bocce ball courts and ping pong tables.

Operated by Eureka! Restaurant Group and financially backed by Knighthead Capital Management, Electric Pickle has ambitious plans for national expansion. Future locations are already in the works for Las Vegas, Roseville, California, Katy, Texas, Rancho Cucamonga, California, and Reno, Nevada.

Paul Frederick, founder and co-CEO of Eureka Restaurant Group and Electric Pickle, believes that the demand for activity-driven restaurant experiences has only increased since the COVID-19 pandemic. He sees pickleball as a key component of this trend and aims to create a fun and energetic atmosphere at Electric Pickle’s venues.

While Electric Pickle is entering a competitive market with other pickleball-themed eatertainment concepts like Chicken N Pickle and Camp Pickle, Frederick believes that their focus on elevating the overall experience sets them apart. The restaurant will offer an eclectic international menu, featuring items such as sushi rolls, Korean bowls, American burgers, Neapolitan pizzas, and Mexican street tacos.

In addition to the culinary offerings, Electric Pickle will incorporate state-of-the-art AI gaming technology to enhance gameplay experiences on four of the nine pickleball courts. The venues will also feature a golf simulator and lush landscaping to create a paradise-like atmosphere for guests.

Looking ahead, Electric Pickle plans to open additional locations in emerging markets for pickleball, with Roseville and Las Vegas slated as the next openings. Each location is expected to take approximately 11 months to complete, offering a unique blend of sports, dining, and entertainment for guests.
