Electric Pickle: A New Eatertainment Concept Combining Pickleball, Dining, and Fun
Electric Pickle, a new eatertainment concept centered around the popular athletic activity of pickleball, is set to open its first location in Tempe, Arizona, in December. The venue will boast 4.5 acres of pickleball courts, a two-story restaurant, and additional activities such as bocce ball courts and ping pong tables.
Operated by Eureka! Restaurant Group and financially backed by Knighthead Capital Management, Electric Pickle has ambitious plans for national expansion. Future locations are already in the works for Las Vegas, Roseville, California, Katy, Texas, Rancho Cucamonga, California, and Reno, Nevada.
Founder and co-CEO Paul Frederick believes that the surge in popularity of pickleball is just beginning, especially when combined with the culinary aspect and energetic atmosphere that Electric Pickle aims to provide. The concept is not alone in the market, with competitors like Chicken N Pickle, Camp Pickle, and The Pickle Pad also capitalizing on the pickleball-themed eatertainment trend.
What sets Electric Pickle apart, according to Frederick, is its focus on elevating the overall experience. The venue will offer a diverse international menu, featuring items like sushi rolls, Korean bowls, American burgers, Neapolitan pizzas, and Mexican street tacos. Additionally, state-of-the-art AI gaming technology will enhance gameplay experiences on select pickleball courts, along with a golf simulator and lush outdoor landscaping.
With a goal of creating a paradise-like atmosphere for guests, Electric Pickle plans to open additional locations in emerging pickleball markets with minimal competition. The next openings are slated for Roseville and Las Vegas, each taking approximately 11 months to complete.
