The Antigo Pickleball Club celebrated the grand opening of the new Krueger Pickleball Courts at Jaycee Park with a ribbon-cutting event and tournament. The facility features 16 state-of-the-art, lit, stand-alone courts, providing an excellent venue for the rapidly growing sport. Community leaders, including Tammy Walrath of the Langlade County Economic Development Corporation and Mayor Tom Bauknecht, praised the project as a symbol of local collaboration, enhancing quality of life and positioning Antigo as a destination for pickleball enthusiasts.

The project, years in the making since 2014, was driven by dedicated volunteers and sponsors who contributed time and resources to bring the vision to life. Club leaders expressed hopes that the courts will promote physical activity, social connection, and mental well-being, especially among youth, potentially making pickleball a school sport in the area. The success of the initiative highlights the power of teamwork and persistence, with organizers excited to see the community benefit from this new recreational asset.
