Anna Leigh Waters capped off a dominant 2024 season with a Triple Crown of titles at the 2024 CIBC Tour Finals, held in San Clemente last weekend. The Professional Pickleball Association (PPA) tour saw Waters, the top seed, assert her dominance in both the Women’s Pro Singles and Women’s Pro Doubles categories.
In the Women’s Pro Singles event, Waters advanced through the ATP Pool with ease, showcasing her skills and giving out a couple of donuts along the way. Despite facing tough competition, Waters continued her winning streak and secured her spot in the final. In a thrilling match against Parris Todd, Waters cruised to a 9,4 victory to claim the gold medal.
In the Women’s Pro Doubles category, Waters teamed up with Parenteau and faced some unexpected challenges in the group stage. However, they managed to secure the top seed and advanced to the final. In a highly anticipated match against Bright & Rohrabacher, Waters & Parenteau fought hard and emerged victorious, securing Waters’ Triple Crown of titles for the second year in a row.
Waters’ incredible performance at the 2024 CIBC Tour Finals solidified her status as one of the top players in the PPA tour. With her 30th PPA career Triple Crown, Waters is slowly catching up to Ben Johns for the most career gold medals on tour.
