Lapiplasty Pickleball World Championships: Anna Leigh Waters, Federico Staksrud Secure Top Honours
The Lapiplasty Pickleball World Championships recently concluded its second edition at the Brookhaven Country Club in Farmers Branch, Texas, with Anna Leigh Waters and Federico Staksrud emerging as the top winners. The event, which featured five PRO categories including Men’s Singles, Women’s Singles, Men’s Doubles, Women’s Doubles, and Mixed Doubles, attracted a large number of participants and spectators, making it a grand success.
Some of the biggest names in the pickleball circuit, such as Anna Leigh Waters, Ben Johns, and Catherine Parenteau, showcased their skills at the tournament. Anna Leigh Waters dominated the Women’s Singles category, defeating Kate Fahey in the final, while Federico Starksrud claimed the Men’s Singles title.
In the Women’s Doubles category, Anna Bright and Rachel Rohrabacher emerged victorious, while Ben Johns and Anna Leigh Waters secured the Mixed Doubles title. Riley Newman and Hayden Patriquin took home the Men’s Doubles title.
In addition to the exciting competition, Pickleball League Asia Private Limited, in partnership with The Times Group, launched the Pickleball World Rankings (PWR) at a special event in Dubai. The PWR DUPR Indian League and Tour will feature a thrilling schedule with stops in Mumbai, Tsu, Japan, and various cities in India.
