AIPA Inaugurates India’s First Pickleball Equipment Research Lab, Paving the Way for Professionalization and Standardization in the Sport

In a groundbreaking development for the sport of pickleball in India, the All India Pickleball Association (AIPA) has unveiled the country’s first Pickleball Equipment Research Lab in collaboration with Brainwave SportsTech. This state-of-the-art facility is set to revolutionize the sport by standardizing equipment quality and professionalizing the game nationwide.

The newly inaugurated lab will play a crucial role in testing and certifying pickleball equipment to ensure it meets rigorous quality standards. Previously, Indian players had to rely on certifications from international bodies, but now they have a dedicated domestic facility to evaluate equipment performance and safety comprehensively.

Arvind Ramesh Prabhoo, President of AIPA, expressed his excitement about the milestone, stating, “Establishing our own research and testing facility has always been a part of AIPA’s vision to provide the best quality equipment for our players. This initiative reflects our commitment to excellence and ensuring that our equipment meets international standards.”

Sunil Peshane, Director of Brainwave SportsTech, highlighted the significance of the Equipment Testing Laboratory, stating, “This cutting-edge facility marks a significant milestone for pickleball in India and beyond. By providing science-backed evaluations, we are empowering manufacturers and players to enhance their products and gameplay, positioning India as a leader in the global pickleball community.”

The collaboration with Brainwave SportsTech brings specialized expertise and cutting-edge technology to the lab, ensuring accurate and reliable testing of a wide range of pickleball equipment. This initiative aligns with AIPA’s broader objective of securing official recognition from the Indian government and the Sports Authority of India, as well as integrating pickleball into school and university programs.

The establishment of the research lab is expected to fuel increased participation in the sport and pave the way for future Indian pickleball champions. With this development, India is poised to make a mark in the global pickleball arena and solidify its position as a key player in the sport.
