Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], November 5: The All India Pickleball Association (AIPA) has announced that Indian athletes put up an impressive performance at the Asia Pickleball Games 2024, clinching multiple gold and silver medals.
The prestigious event, organized by the Asia Federation of Pickleball and the Chinese Taipei Pickleball Association, witnessed top players from countries like India, Taiwan, Singapore, Japan, China, Indonesia, South Korea, and Malaysia showcasing their skills on the court. India’s representatives stood out among the competition, solidifying the country’s position as a rising powerhouse in the sport.
Nitten Kirttane emerged victorious with a gold medal in the 50+ Open Men’s Singles category, while Vishal Jadhav secured a silver medal in the 35+ Open Men’s Singles. Khushi Sachdeva and Shraddha Damani also impressed with silver medals in the 19+ and 35+ women’s singles categories, respectively. Additionally, Sandeep Tawde added another silver medal in the 50+ men’s singles category.
In the doubles events, the dynamic duo of Nitten Kirttane and Sandeep Tawde claimed gold in the 50+ Open Men’s Doubles, while Vanshik Kapadia and Tejas Mahajan secured gold in the 19+ Open Men’s Doubles. Vanshik Kapadia and Vrushali Thakare also emerged victorious with a gold medal in the 19+ Open Mixed Doubles, while Vishal Jadhav and Isha Lakhani clinched gold in the 35+ Open Mixed Doubles.
The Indian contingent also celebrated bronze medal wins, with athletes like Chetan Sanil, Vrushali Thakare, Khushi Sachdeva, Shraddha Damani, Sandeep Tawde, and Johann Fernandes making their mark at the tournament.
