Exciting Youth Programs Offered in Niagara-on-the-Lake!
NOTL Youth Collective and Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake Collaborate to Offer Youth Activities
The Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake and the Niagara Youth Collective have joined forces to provide a variety of activities for youth in the community. From fitness center time to open court activities, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
The collaboration between the town and the youth collective aims to offer young people in NOTL a safe and supervised space to socialize, learn new skills, and have fun. Caroline Polgrabia, an organizer of the youth collective, highlighted the importance of providing opportunities for youth in the community.
The recent Friday evening open court activities, which included pickleball, volleyball, and ping pong, drew a crowd of young participants who had a great time making new friends and trying out different sports. The success of the event has led the town to extend the program until the end of February.
In addition to the Friday night activities, the town is also offering fitness center time for youth aged 13 to 18 on Thursday evenings. Participants will have the opportunity to work with a certified personal trainer to learn proper gym etiquette and get tips for an effective workout.
Parents have expressed their support for the programs, with many seeing them as a valuable opportunity for their children to stay active and engaged. The town is also offering drop-in activities on Saturday mornings for children aged two to 12, providing a variety of sports options for older participants and creative play spaces for younger children.
Overall, the collaboration between the town and the youth collective is providing a range of activities for youth in NOTL, filling a gap in the community and giving young people a welcoming space to belong. Keep an eye on social media for more information on upcoming programs and events.
